How to set up your Client (Old Method)
WOTLK Install Instructions
Steps to getting the 3.3.5a client.
Before starting: Make sure to have at least 25GB free and at least 1GB of ram. (2GB is better)
Easy Windows Method

If you have the game disks up to lich king then use them and then download the patches here.
Install all the lich king disks, then with the patches you downloaded, patch IN ORDER all of them. Kind of a pain, but you only have to do it once.
Then DELETE the shortcut on your desktop to the WOW LAUNCHER, DO NOT USE THAT LAUNCHER! It will patch over the 3.3.5a client and you will have to start all over.
Go into your wow folder and Right Click the wow.exe and create a shortcut on your desktop for it. This is how you will launch the game always.
Then, in your wow install folder go to <wowfolder>/data/enUS
Find the realmlist.wtf
Open in notepad and edit to the following
Click save and open the game from the wow shortcut you created earlier.
The game should say this on the login screen, this means you are good to go. Login with your KaiWow credentials (Username and password NOT EMAIL) and your in!
Otherwise:
(If you have the game disks up to lich king, load them. Do not install Cata. Then patch only up to 3.3.5a with the patches below!) OR
1. Download and Install uTorrent found here. (Or install from disks up to wrath of the lich king, do not install cata)
- Note:For those that use uTorrent, follow this guide and also in Options->Preferences->BitTorrent, choose “Forced” under Protocol Encryption Outgoing.
2. Click Here for the torrent pointer, click on download. Then, double left click on the file you downloaded, wait a few seconds until uTorrent launches and load the file into it.
3. Wait until uTorrent reports that the file is completely downloaded. Might want to do this overnight, could take up to a day or two on very slow connections.
- Alternatively, skip to step 6 after navigating to your realm list (Wow>Data>Enus>Realmlist.wtf) and changing it to
4. Run the game from Wow.exe NOT the launcher and log in using your KaiWoW username and password. (This .exe. is located in your wow folder, it says wow.exe. Right click > create shortcut)
5. Use the links below to download and patch your wow client to 3.3.5a (will be shown on the login screen of the game)

2. Go to Your Download folder or Were you Downloaded it and Open it then select The Wrath of the Lich King download, and Press Ok Make Sure you Close the Launcher
3. Now Begins the long process of patching it up manually Start by Downloading: (I have compiled all the below patches into one easy, but long, download here)

4. After you Download each one start by Moving them to Your World of warcraft folder then open them From 3.2.0 To 3.3.5 Close out of the launcher as fast as possible
5. Your Almost Done Now you Need To Navigate to your Realmlist Goto Your Wow Folder and Wow>Data>Enus>Realmlist.wtf Open it with textedit And Make it set realmlist wow.darkzengaming.com
6. Run the game from World of Warcraft.app and log in using your KaiWoW username and password.
CAUTION: Do not use the Blizzard launcher, this will cause your game client to get automatically updated beyond what we and the community use. Unless you have two installations, use the .exe shortcut method above.
CAUTION: It was found that the new “all in one blizzard launcher” actively “seeks” your world of warcraft install and will automatically update it. It is therefore recommended you place your 3.3.5a wow client in another folder and rename it to something else.
